We require that every dog Owner complete the following prior to enrollment: (1) an online profile for both the Owner and their dog (“Owner Profile”) and (2) read and sign our Customer Consent, Waiver, Release and Indemnification.
Owner Profile: by completing the Sign Up Form on our website (Owner Profile), the Owner certifies that he or she has full authority to act on behalf of, and make decisions for, the animal. The Owner assumes full and complete responsibility for ensuring that the online profile, for both the dog and the Owner, is at all times, complete and accurate. Verbal notifications of changes will not be accepted. All changes must be in writing and dated. Any injury or event resulting from an Owner’s failure to accurately complete the profile and keep current is the sole responsibility of the Owner, and the Owner shall hold harmless and indemnify District Dogs for any event resulting from the Owner’s failure to do so.
Vaccination Requirements: As discussed below, each dog must remain current with all vaccinations required by the District of Columbia Municipal Regulations, the Code of Virginia, and/or the Arlington County Code, as appropriate, and as may also be required by District Dogs at its discretion. At all times, each dog must wear an identification tag, vaccination tag and/or license tag as required by law and may not wear any other tags as may be prohibited by law. A copy of all written vaccination records required by law shall be provided upon registration and annually, as may be required.
Medical Requirements & Medication Policy: At the discretion of District Dogs staff, any dog exhibiting signs or symptoms of illness or infection—whether viral, bacterial, fungal, or parasitic—will not be admitted to our facility. Owners must promptly notify the facility upon discovering any such medical condition and, if the dog is currently in our care, retrieve them immediately. Failure to do so may result, at District Dog’s sole discretion, in the termination of all future services without refund.
In accordance with state and local laws, owners must immediately notify District Dogs of any animal that may have been exposed to rabies, whether or not exhibiting symptoms. Owners are required to comply with all state and local regulations regarding quarantine and booster requirements for dogs exposed to rabies and such animals are strictly prohibited from any District Dogs facility unless and until allowed to return in accordance with applicable law.
District Dogs will only administer oral medications, pills, ointments, and medicated wipes. We do not provide services involving syringes (subcutaneous, intramuscular, or intravenous), medical asthma pumps, or dental scraping.
Temperament & Medical Condition: Each dog must be of suitable temperament and medical condition for our unique environment, which includes, but is not limited to, the ability to interact safely with other dogs and our staff. Prior to enrollment, each dog will undergo a temperament assessment. Based on the results of this evaluation, we reserve the right to decline enrollment at our sole discretion. In the event that enrollment is declined, the fee for the temperament evaluation will still apply and must be paid in full.
Once enrolled, each dog will be continuously evaluated to ensure the safety of all pets and staff. We reserve the right to terminate enrollment at any time if our staff determines that a dog poses a safety risk. In such cases, we will make every effort to discuss concerns with the Owner to explore possible resolutions. If a resolution is not feasible, District Dogs reserves the right to retain all fees for services not yet rendered.
Any dog determined to be “dangerous” by a court or municipal authority is strictly prohibited from District Dogs facilities. Owners must immediately notify District Dogs in the event any dog currently enrolled is later determined to be “dangerous”.
Additionally, any dog with critical heart conditions or multiple medications requiring care beyond what we provide may be referred to veterinary overnight care with a specialist who can offer one-on-one medical attention.
We strive to provide a safe and secure environment for all dogs under our care. Adherence to these policies and procedures is mandatory. We require and request that all our customers (dogs and Owners) cooperate to make our unique cage-free and off-leash environment an enjoyable experience for all.
Unless otherwise noted in writing herein, all services and products are non-refundable. Please contact any member of our friendly dog-loving staff with any questions or concerns.
MEDICAL: VACCINATION AND HEALTH REQUIREMENTS, POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS
Our greatest priority is the health of the dogs in our care. To that end, we require that all dogs using any of our services be currently vaccinated against communicable diseases, including but not limited to, rabies, distemper, hepatitis (adenovirus), parainfluenza, parvo and bordetella. Such vaccinations must be renewed annually or prior to expiration, as medically and legally required, and written proof of such vaccinations must be provided upon enrollment and thereafter upon administration. Failure to vaccinate as required will result in the immediate removal of the dog from our facilities and such dog shall not be readmitted until proof of current vaccinations is provided. All Owners are required to comply with all applicable laws and regulations regarding rabies vaccinations.
While we make every effort to monitor vaccination expiration dates, it is your sole responsibility, as the Owner, to ensure that their pet is up to date on its vaccinations. Injury, disease or death to another animal at our facility resulting from a failure to vaccinate timely, is your sole responsibility, and you shall fully indemnify District Dogsfor any resulting damages and costs.
Proof of administration of Rabies, Bordetella and DHHP (or DAPP, DA2PP, DAPPC) is required. We reserve the right to require additional vaccinations at the sole discretion of District Dogs. Proof of vaccinations should include: written certification on veterinary clinic letterhead, signed by a licensed veterinarian with: (1) date of vaccination; (2) expiration date of vaccine; and (3) manufacturer and lot number of vaccine. Each dog must wear the lawfully issued vaccination tag, as legally required, at all times while at District Dogs facilities or otherwise under District Dogs care.
PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS, ILLNESS AND INFECTIONS
We will not admit any dog that we believe, in our sole discretion, presents a potential health or safety risk to other dogs, our staff, or themselves. This includes, but is not limited to, dogs with contagious illnesses, infections, or unmanaged pre-existing medical or behavioral conditions. Owners who: (1) fail to promptly disclose known or suspected health concerns, including pre-existing conditions; (2) knowingly bring a sick, contagious, or otherwise medically compromised dog to our facility; and/or (3) fail to immediately remove a dog deemed by us to present a health risk, may be prohibited from future use of our services at our discretion. In such cases, any remaining service packages will be forfeited, and membership fees will not be refunded. We reserve the right to require written veterinary clearance before readmitting any dog our staff determines may pose a health or safety risk.
Rabies exposure: Any dog which has or may have been exposed to rabies is not permitted in our facilities. You must immediately notify District Dogs of any possible exposure to rabies and comply with all booster and quarantine requirements as mandated by law. In order to be readmitted to any District Dogs facility, you must show proof that you have complied with any applicable booster, quarantine and/or any other obligations as required by law or regulation. We retain discretion to require additional veterinary documentation regarding exposure and treatment.
Pre-existing Conditions: It is your responsibility to disclose any known pre-existing medical or behavioral conditions prior to utilizing our services. This includes, but is not limited to, heart conditions, chronic illnesses, past injuries or surgeries, orthopedic issues, allergies, anxiety, and any history of trauma or aggression. While District Dogs strives to provide a safe, supportive environment, I understand that District Dogsis not liable for the aggravation or recurrence of any pre-existing condition(s) while at our facility. Accurate, up-to-date information helps us provide the most appropriate care possible. Failure to disclose relevant medical or behavioral history may result in immediate removal from the facility and suspension of future services. You must disclose immediately any finding by a court or other lawfully authorized agency or individual that your dog has been determined to be “dangerous”. Any dog so determined will not be admitted into any District Dogs facility.
Senior Dogs: Dogs 7 years of age or older are considered senior dogs. I understand that senior dogs may face increased health risks in communal and boarding environments, including heightened stress, weakened immune function, and greater susceptibility to rapid health deterioration compared to younger dogs. I am required to provide current contact information for my preferred veterinarian prior to my senior dog's first visit. I am also required to provide written instructions for the handling of my dog's remains in the unlikely event of my dog's passing while in District Dogs' care, including designating a contact person for pickup or providing arrangements for cremation or other disposition. All associated costs are my responsibility. District Dogs reserves the right to require a current wellness examination or additional veterinary documentation prior to admitting any senior dog.
Illness & Infection: To prevent the transmission of disease, fungal infections and parasites to other animals, we adhere to strict health requirements. For the avoidance of doubt, such risk includes not only viral and bacterial diseases but fungal and parasitic infections. It is your responsibility to notify us immediately of any health-related issues or concerns affecting your dog. Below are some of the more common illnesses and infections that may affect dogs in communal environments:
Kennel Cough: Kennel Cough is a highly contagious airborne respiratory infection that can be contracted in communal spaces such as dog daycares, dog parks, and boarding facilities. While being vaccinated helps reduce the risk of contracting Kennel Cough, it does not provide complete immunity, and dogs may be exposed to the condition in environments outside our facility. By utilizing our daycare or boarding services, you acknowledge and accept the inherent risk that your pet may contract Kennel Cough. District Dogs cannot be held liable for any illness or symptoms resulting from exposure to this condition while at our facility. If your dog has been diagnosed with Kennel Cough, we require written veterinary clearance before allowing your pet to return to our facility.
Giardia: Giardia is a parasitic infection that can affect dogs and is often contracted through contaminated water or environmental exposure. While we take extensive precautions to maintain a clean and safe environment, dogs may still contract Giardia from various environmental sources, including but not limited to outdoor areas, shared water bowls, or communal play spaces. District Dogs is not responsible for any instance of Giardia contraction, and by utilizing our services, you acknowledge the possibility, however small, that your pet may be exposed to this condition. If your dog has been diagnosed with Giardia, we require written veterinary clearance before allowing the pet to return to our facility.
Mouth Warts (Canine Papillomavirus): Canine Papillomavirus, or mouth warts, is a highly contagious viral condition that spreads through direct contact with infected dogs or contaminated communal resources, including but not limited to water bowls, toys, dog parks, and shared areas in residential buildings. If District Dogs staff observe signs of mouth warts, the Owner will be notified and advised to seek veterinary evaluation. Any dog diagnosed with a contagious case must be kept out of the facility until the Owner provides written veterinary clearance confirming the condition has resolved and treatment is complete. While a dog is restricted from our facility, District Dogs may offer alternative services, such as solo walks from the dog’s home. Owners may inquire about availability and rates. District Dogs reserves the right to deny reentry to any dog that, in its sole discretion, still poses a health risk.
Emergency Medical Care: If, in the sole judgment of our staff, a pet appears ill or is otherwise believed to be in need of urgent medical attention, the Facility, in its discretion and best judgment, may engage the services of a veterinarian or administer medicine or give other requisite attention to the pet. The expenses thereof shall be paid by you. You give consent to the Facility to act on your behalf in obtaining emergency or any veterinary care at your expense if deemed necessary by the Facility or any of its employees. You =+shall indemnify and hold the Facility harmless for said expenses.
REQUIRED NOTICE FOR THE COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA: The boarding of animals is subject to Code of Virginia Article 4 (§ 3.2-6518 et seq.) of Chapter 65 of Title 3.2. If your animal becomes ill or injured while in the custody of the boarding establishment, the boarding establishment shall provide the animal with emergency veterinary treatment for the illness or injury. The consumer shall bear the reasonable and necessary costs of emergency veterinary treatment for an illness or injury occurring while the animal is in the custody of the boarding establishment. The boarding establishment shall bear the expenses of veterinary treatment for any injury the animal sustains while at the boarding establishment if the injury resulted from the establishment’s failure, whether accidental or intentional, to provide the care required by § 3.2-6503. Boarding establishment shall not be required to bear the cost of veterinary treatment for injuries resulting from the animal’s self-mutilation.
To protect the other dogs in our care, you are required to immediately inform District Dogs upon learning your pet has or has been exposed to a communicable disease, including but not limited to rabies, diagnosed by a veterinarian. Failure to do so may result in the immediate termination of all services without refund.
MEDICINE
We will administer medicine at your request pursuant to written instructions.
You are required to give detailed instructions regarding the administration of any medicine, including for example, the dosage, time of day, means of administering (with food, etc.), and storage restrictions (eg., refrigeration). The name and contact information of the veterinarian prescribing the medicine should also be included in the instructions.
Prescription medicine should be clearly labeled with both your and the dog’s name.
Medicine that is not presently needed by a dog will be returned to you. The facility will not store medicine for which there is not a current need.
DOGS IN HEAT (or two weeks out of it)
We advise that any female dog currently in heat, or within two (2) weeks of completing her cycle when she may still be fertile, remain at home. During this time, we encourage families to consider our solo walking services instead of daycare or boarding.
We recognize that veterinarians and current studies often recommend postponing spay/neuter procedures to promote healthier long-term development of bones, joints, and growth. As a result, it’s more common for dogs to experience heat cycles while still participating in daycare or boarding. While we respect those decisions, our responsibility is to prioritize the safety and well-being of all dogs in our care.
If an owner still chooses to leave a dog in heat (or recently in heat) at our facility, we will make reasonable efforts to manage the situation, which may involve isolating the dog or grouping her with females only. However, we cannot guarantee full isolation or prevention of interactions with other dogs.
By boarding or enrolling a dog in heat or recently in heat, the owner acknowledges and accepts all risks—including the possibility of pregnancy—and assumes full responsibility and liability for any outcomes that may occur during the dog’s stay.
INJURY
To your dog: We make every effort to ensure the safety of each and every dog in our care. Despite our best efforts, injuries may nonetheless occur. Should a dog be injured while at our facility or otherwise under our care, a staff member will promptly notify the Owner listed in the Owner Profile to explain the nature of the injury and planned treatment. If we cannot reach the Owner, we will reach out to the Emergency Contact.
Our staff will use reasonable efforts and its best judgment in rendering immediate basic care. Please note, however, that we are not medical providers. We will not, and should not, be expected to provide the level of care rendered by a veterinarian. If, in the determination of staff and consistent with the requirements of law, your dog requires the attention of a veterinarian, we will transport your dog to a nearby veterinary hospital specializing in emergency and critical care. You will be billed for all costs associated with such treatment, unless otherwise prohibited by law. District Dogswill not be responsible for any charges arising from the medical treatment for your dog, unless specifically prohibited by law as explained in the required Notice for the Commonwealth of Virginia provided above.
To another dog: If your pet, while under our care or supervision, bites, scratches or otherwise injures another dog, and such bite, scratch, etc. results in an injury, deemed by our staff not to be superficial and/or to require veterinary care, we will contact the owner of the injured dog to inform them of the incident. At our discretion, we will share the following with the owner of the injured dog: (1) the name of your pet, (2) your name and contact information, (3) and any medical information necessary for the treatment, health and safety of the bitten pet. You may be responsible for any medical charges incurred, at the discretion and request of the other owner. Other than providing a statement as to what occurred between the animals, the Facility will not be responsible for, nor involved in, any disputes regarding the payment of medical bills arising from injuries between and/or among dogs at our facility.
Please be advised that all dogs at District Dogs play at their own risk!
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless District Dogs, including but not limited to its owners, officers, directors, shareholders, trustees, parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, predecessors, successors, assigns, representatives, and agents, as to any and all claims, demands, suits, manner of obligation, debt, liability, tort, covenant, contract, or cause of action of any kind whatsoever, at law or equity, whether accrued or not accrued, known or unknown, including without limitation, all claims and causes of action arising out of or in any way relating to the Grooming Services and/or while the undersigned’s dog is in the care and custody of District Dogs.
For purposes of this Grooming Agreement, “Grooming Services” shall include, but are not limited to: Haircuts, Bath & Brush Outs, Nail Clippings, Ear Cleanings, Sanitary Trims, Gland Expressions, Teeth Cleaning, Deshedding, Dematting, Whitening, Flea & Tick Treatment, Shaving (specific breeds or areas), Hand-Stripping, Cording (any type of corded coat maintenance), Hand Scissoring, Ear Plucking, Carding, and Sculpting (breed-specific).
Owner Responsibility & Liability: I shall be solely and entirely responsible for any damages arising from the behavior of my pet, including but not limited to, injury to the pet itself, another animal or a person(s). Should any such injury occur during grooming, or while the animal is otherwise in the care of District Dogs, I agree that District Dogs is neither financially nor legally responsible, and I shall fully indemnify District Dogs for any incurred costs. Such injuries and/or side effects of Grooming Services may include specifically, but are not limited to, the following:
The Facility reserves the right to refuse, stop, or cancel grooming services at any time if, in the sole judgment of staff, a pet is too stressed, aggressive, or otherwise poses a risk to itself or staff. In such cases, a fee will be charged for services rendered up to that point. The Facility may use a muzzle as a last resort to ensure safety, and dogs requiring muzzling or additional staff may be charged at a higher than standard rate. Dogs with severely matted coats may need to be shaved, which presents a heightened risk of nicks, cuts, skin irritation, itchiness, redness, self-inflicted abrasions, brief behavioral changes, or failure of hair to regrow. By utilizing grooming services, you authorize the Facility to shave your pet's coat if deemed necessary and acknowledge the associated risks. An additional charge will apply for mat removal. If your pet is found to have fleas upon arrival, a flea bath will be administered at your expense. Grooming appointments require at least twenty-four (24) hours advance notice for cancellations or reschedules. Appointments not canceled within this window, and no-shows, will incur a fee. The Facility will hold appointments for fifteen (15) minutes past the scheduled drop-off time, after which the appointment may be released.
Should the need arise during, before or after Grooming Services and while my dog is under the care of District Dogs, I give permission to District Dogs to provide basic medical care to my dog as may be deemed necessary by the staff of District Dogs. District Dogs staff shall use their best judgment and reasonable efforts in providing such treatment, and shall, consistent with the procedures of District Dogs and as required by law, transport my dog to an emergency veterinary facility for further treatment as may be deemed necessary by District Dogs staff. I authorize District Dogs to bill my credit card on file for any expenses and charges associated with the medical treatment of my dog unless otherwise prohibited by law. District Dogs shall not be responsible for any such costs.
I acknowledge that District Dogs is not a medical provider and will provide care to the best of their abilities and as is in their best judgement. I will not hold District Dogs responsible for medical conditions arising from the care provided.
I agree to release, waive, indemnify and hold harmless District Dogs, including but not limited to its owners, officers, directors, shareholders, trustees, parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, predecessors, successors, assigns, representatives, trainers (whether employed directly by District Dogs or as an independent contractor), agents, independent contractors, and any other individuals or entities working on the behalf of District Dogs, as to any and all claims, demands, suits, manner of obligation, debt, liability, tort, covenant, contract, or cause of action of any kind whatsoever, at law or equity, whether accrued or not accrued, known or unknown, including without limitation, all claims and causes of action arising out of or in any way relating to the Training Services and/or while the undersigned's dog is in the care and custody of District Dogs.
For purposes of this Dog Training Services Agreement, "Training Services" shall include, but is not limited to: private one-on-one training sessions, group training classes, board-and-train programs, Structured Daycare, behavioral modification sessions, puppy socialization, leash reactivity training, obedience training, and any other training-related programs or sessions offered by District Dogs, whether conducted at a District Dogs facility, at the Owner's residence, or in any other location.
Training Methods & Owner Consent: District Dogs employs training methods and techniques selected by its trainers in their professional judgment. By enrolling in Training Services, I acknowledge and consent to the training methods, tools, and equipment used by District Dogs trainers, which may include, but are not limited to: leashes, long lines, harnesses, head halters, slip leads, place cots, training treats, clickers, and other standard training equipment. I understand that I may request information about the specific methods to be used prior to enrollment.
I understand and agree that District Dogs reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify training methods, techniques, and equipment during the course of Training Services as the trainer deems necessary and appropriate for the training, safety and well-being of my dog, other dogs, staff, and the public. I will be notified in advance, if practicable, or otherwise at the conclusion of a session.
Behavioral Risk Acknowledgment: I understand that Training Services may involve working with dogs that exhibit behavioral challenges, including but not limited to: reactivity, anxiety, fear-based behaviors, and aggression. While District Dogs makes every effort to limit risks, including injury, I acknowledge that behavioral modification and training nonetheless carry inherent risks, including the risk of injury to my dog, to District Dogs trainers or staff, to other dogs, and/or to third parties. Such risks include, but are not limited to: (a) bites, scratches, and/or other physical injuries resulting from my dog's behavior during training; (b) stress, anxiety, or fear responses triggered during training exercises; (c) physical strain, soreness, or fatigue from training activities; (d) escape or attempted escape during training exercises; and (e) interactions with other dogs during group training or Structured Daycare that may result in injury to my dog or another.
Off-Leash Training Acknowledgment: To the extent my dog's Training Services may include any off-leash exercises, I understand and expressly consent to my dog being worked off-leash in controlled environments as determined appropriate by District Dogs trainers. I acknowledge that off-leash activities may carry risks, in addition to those described above, including but not limited to: escape, unpredictable interactions with other animals or people, and increased risk of injury.
Owner Disclosure Requirements: Prior to enrollment in Training Services, I shall fully and accurately disclose any known behavioral issues, bite history, or aggressive tendencies my dog has exhibited toward humans, other animals, or both. This includes, but is not limited to, any prior incidents of biting, lunging, resource guarding, barrier frustration, and/or any determination by a court or municipal authority that my dog is a "dangerous dog." Failure to disclose such information may result in the immediate termination of Training Services without refund, and I shall indemnify District Dogs for any damages, injuries, or costs resulting from my failure to so disclose. District Dogs will not provide Training Services to any dog which has been found by a court or municipal authority to be a "dangerous dog" or "vicious dog."
If, during the course of my prepaid Training Services session, my dog becomes subject to any proceedings to determine whether my dog is a "dangerous dog" as that term is defined by law, I agree to immediately notify District Dogs. District Dogs, at its sole discretion, may: (a) temporarily suspend Training Services pending such a determination, (b) continue Training Services under modified conditions, including but not limited to restricting my dog from group training, Structured Daycare, or any setting involving other dogs or members of the public (to be provided at the appropriate rate); or (c) permanently terminate Training Services. If Training Services are suspended or terminated under this provision, District Dogs will provide a refund for any unused sessions. I agree to keep District Dogs fully informed of any such proceedings and findings, and to comply with (including any increased costs) any modified conditions imposed by District Dogs as a condition of continued Training Services.
No Guarantee of Results: I understand and acknowledge that District Dogs makes no warranty, guarantee, or representation regarding the outcome of any Training Services. Dog training results depend on numerous factors, including but not limited to the dog's temperament, age, health, prior experiences, and the Owner's consistency in reinforcing training at home. While District Dogs will use its professional judgment and reasonable efforts to achieve the desired training goals, District Dogs does not and cannot guarantee any specific results, including that any specific behavior will be modified, corrected, or eliminated, whether temporarily or permanently.
Owner Participation & Responsibility: I understand that the success of Training Services depends significantly on my active participation and consistent follow-through at home. I agree to follow the trainer's recommendations, to practice assigned exercises between sessions, and to attend any required Owner-handler sessions. I acknowledge that failure to follow trainer recommendations, complete homework assignments, or maintain consistency between sessions may diminish or negate training results, and that District Dogs shall not be held responsible for outcomes resulting from my actions and/or inactions.
For training services offered during a boarding stay, I understand that my dog shall reside at the District Dogs facility for the duration of the program. Upon completion, I understand that I am required to attend a transfer session in which the trainer will review all commands, techniques, and recommendations. I acknowledge that my failure to attend the transfer session or to implement the trainer's instructions following the program may compromise the training results, and District Dogs shall not be responsible for any regression in behavior thereafter.
Structured Daycare: Structured Daycare (available at limited locations) combines elements of daycare and training in a group setting. I understand that dogs enrolled in Structured Daycare will participate in structured activities, obedience exercises, and supervised socialization as determined by District Dogs staff. For the avoidance of doubt, all terms of the General Services Agreement, including both daycare and boarding provisions, apply to Structured Daycare, in addition to the terms contained herein.
Payment, Owner Cancellation, Missed Sessions & Refund Policy: The cost of Training Services shall be in accord with the payment schedule posted on the District Dogs website. Training Services are not automatically renewed; any continuation of services beyond the initial package or session requires my affirmative election and payment in advance.
Group Classes Training Services: Unless otherwise rescheduled by District Dogs, all missed classes shall be forfeited, and no refunds shall be given. In the event of inclement weather, District Dogs will make every effort to reschedule classes and/or refund payment at the discretion of District Dogs.
Private Training Services: requests to cancel or reschedule private training sessions (whether a single session or part of a ormulti-session private training package) must be made at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance of the scheduled appointment. District Dogs shall consider sessions canceled with less than twenty-four (24) hours advance notice, and no-shows, as completed sessions and will not be refunded or rescheduled.
Multi-session training packages are non-refundable and non-transferable after the first session has been completed, except as may otherwise be required by law. All sessions within a package must be attended within 365 days after purchase.
For sessions cancelled twenty-four (24) hours in advance of the scheduled appointment, District Dogs will make every effort to reschedule the session prior to the 365-day expiration. If such cancellation occurs within fourteen (14) days of the package expiration date and District Dogs is unable to reschedule, or if the Owner is = unavailable at the times proposed by District Dogs, the remaining session(s) will be considered forfeited and shall not be refunded or extended. If such cancellation occurs more than fourteen (14) days prior to the package expiration and District Dogs is unable to reschedule at a mutually convenient time, District Dogs will issue a refund for the unused session(s).
Cancellations by District Dogs: District Dogs makes every effort to hold training sessions as scheduled. Should the need arise, however, for District Dogs to cancel a session for any reason, including but not limited to inclement weather, trainer unavailability, or facility closure, District Dogs will make every reasonable effort to reschedule at a mutually convenient time. Should District Dogs be unable to do so, it will issue a full refund for the session it cancelled.
Right to Refuse or Terminate Services: District Dogs reserves the right to refuse enrollment in, or to discontinue, Training Services for my dog at any time, in its sole discretion, including but not limited to situations where: (1) my dog poses a safety risk to trainers, staff, other dogs, or the public; (2) I have failed to comply with the terms of this Training Services Agreement and/or the District Dogs General Services Agreement; (3) I have failed to disclose relevant behavioral or medical history; and/or (4) my dog's behavioral issues are beyond the scope of the services offered by District Dogs. In the event Training Services are discontinued, District Dogs will make every effort to discuss its concerns with me and, where appropriate, provide referrals to specialists. District Dogs shall refund any unused prepaid sessions unless the determination to discontinue Training Services is the result of: (a) my failure to comply with any District Dogs Agreement, including but not limited to my failure to disclose relevant behavioral or medical information, and/or (b) a determination that the dog is a "dangerous dog" or "vicious dog," or is currently subject to such proceedings, in which case all remaining fees shall be forfeited.
Off-Premises Training: I understand that certain Training Services may be conducted outside of District Dogs facilities, including but not limited to public streets, sidewalks, parks, and other outdoor locations. District Dogs will not conduct off-premises training without my prior written consent, which may be provided on a per-session or ongoing basis and may be revoked by me at any time in writing.
All off-premises Training Services shall be on-leash in compliance with applicable leash laws, unless conducted in a designated off-leash area..
I acknowledge that off-premises training environments present additional risks, including but not limited to interactions with unfamiliar dogs or people, traffic, wildlife, weather conditions, and unpredictable environmental stimuli. I voluntarily assume all such risks relating to my dog and agree to release and hold District Dogs harmless for any injuries, damages, or losses arising from off-premises Training Services, except to the extent caused by District Dogs's gross negligence, bad faith, or intentional misconduct.
I acknowledge that I have read this Dog Training Services Agreement and have had an opportunity to ask any questions I may have. By enrolling in any Training Services covered by this Agreement, I agree to and shall abide by its terms.
I have read, understand and agree to the following:
Reasonable Action. In their sole discretion and best judgment, District Dogs Doggy staff may take any reasonable action, without your prior approval, that they deem necessary to ensure the safety, security and health of your dog, other dog(s) and any individual(s) with whom your dog may come into contact. In all such circumstances, staff will endeavor to notify you prior to taking such action or as soon as practicable thereafter.
Dog Walking. District Dogs staff may walk your dog off-premises, including in public streets and parks, at their discretion unless specified in Owner Profile. Staff will send the Owner an update at the end of the walk.
Photo Updates. District Dogs staff will make their best efforts to provide at least one "pupdate" per day.
Pickup. We will release your dog only to those individuals, who have been authorized by you as listed in your Customer Profile. It is your sole responsibility to ensure that the initial Sign Up Form & Customer Profile is current and that all individuals listed are authorized to assume custody of your dog. If you are removing any individual from your profile, we do ask to be notified in writing via email or SMS in addition to adjusting your Customer Profile. We assume no liability for a form, which is not properly updated. At our sole discretion, we reserve the right to require identification prior to releasing your dog into the custody of anyone not already known by us. In the case of an emergency, or an unforeseen delay, you may authorize a temporary emergency pickup by updating your Owner Profile or providing the facility, in writing, with: (1) the full name of the individual authorized to pick up your dog and the (2) dates when applicable. Please ensure this individual has proper ID for pickup.
Late pickups: If you are unable to pick up your dog by our advertised closing time, we ask that you notify our team as soon as possible with your estimated arrival time. When necessary, a front desk agent will remain past closing, and a late pickup fee will be applied.
If you are more than 30 minutes late and have not made alternate arrangements, your dog will be considered an overnight boarder and will remain at our facility until the next business day. In this case, your credit card on file will be automatically charged applicable boarding fees.
Boarding services. When boarding services have been requested or are otherwise required, District Dogs staff may relocate your dog to an affiliate location, within 10 miles, as deemed necessary in the sole judgment of staff. Dogs at all our boarding locations are supervised 24/7 by a District Dogs representative and/or staff member. Staff will make every effort to notify you in advance of any such relocation, or as soon as practicable thereafter.
Video Cameras. While cameras are located in all our Facilities, we will not release any videos to any customer unless required to do so by law.
Client Approval. By using any of the services provided by District Dogs, you agree and acknowledge that you: (1) have read and have had an opportunity to ask any questions about both our Customer Release, Waiver and Indemnification and our Terms & Conditions; (2) have been provided the Notice required by the Code of Virginia; and (3) agree to be bound by all of their terms, rules and conditions.

District Dogs shall not be responsible for any such costs.
I acknowledge that District Dogs is not a medical provider and will provide care to the best of their abilities and as is in their best judgement. I will not hold District Dogs responsible for medical conditions arising from the care provided.
I have read, understand and agree to the following:
Upon the written request of the owner of the injured dog, we will share: (1) the name of your pet, (2) your name and contact information, (3) and any medical information necessary for the treatment, health and safety of the bitten pet. You may be responsible for any medical charges incurred, at the discretion and request of the other owner. Other than providing a statement as to what occurred between the animals, District Dogs will not be responsible for, nor involved in, any disputes regarding the payment of medical bills arising from injuries between and/or among dogs at our facility.
Please be advised that all dogs at District Dogs play at their own risk!
