As the New Year unfolds, we at District Dogs are filled with immense gratitude and pride for what we’ve achieved together in the recent holiday season. Thanks to the overwhelming support of our community, we have raised an impressive $3,796 for the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria (AWLA), marking a triumphant end to our inaugural “Home for the Howl-i-days” campaign.
A Season of Giving and Love
The holidays are a time of joy and warmth, and we wanted to extend that festive spirit to our four-legged friends in need. Our partnership with AWLA was driven by a shared commitment to providing comfort and care to animals awaiting their forever homes. With the collective effort of our compassionate community, we managed to raise $1,898, an amount which we, at District Dogs, proudly matched to double the impact.
These funds are essential in supporting the AWLA’s efforts to ensure a comfortable and nurturing environment for the animals in their care. Your contributions have made a significant difference in the lives of many pets, bringing them closer to finding loving homes.
The Joy of Adoption
But our campaign was about more than just fundraising. We aimed to shine a spotlight on the furry faces at the AWLA, hoping to boost their chances of adoption. The results were heartwarming – in December alone, 61 dogs found their loving homes! Among the many success stories were dogs like Igor, Tails, Ace, Phish Food, and Seven, each with their unique personalities and stories, now embarking on new adventures with their adoptive families.
Continuing the Spirit of Giving
The end of the holiday season doesn’t mean the end of giving. Animal shelters, including the AWLA, need support throughout the year. Whether it’s through volunteering, donating items, or financial contributions, every bit of help counts in making a difference in the lives of animals in need.
