Since our founding in 2014, District Dogs has been incredibly proud to be a truly local business. Founded, owned, and operated in the DC area, we believe in offering a high standard of pet care to local dog owners while also building a sense of community in every neighborhood where we operate. In that spirit, we’re extremely excited to announce that our newest location will be opening in Arlington’s National Landing neighborhood as part of Amazon’s new HQ2 campus.
Our sixth (!!!) location—and second Northern Virginia outpost—will be located at the base of one of the Metropolitan Park office buildings in the National Landing campus. District Dogs is one of the first two retailers to lease space in the new development, and we are incredibly honored to be featured alongside RĀKO coffee as part of Amazon’s effort to highlight locally owned businesses at its new campus.
Speaking with Amazon about what this new location means for District Dogs, our staff, and our community, founder Jacob Hensley says, “For small businesses like [District Dogs], opening a new store in Northern Virginia is a huge opportunity to grow the brand and capture new clients.”
As the National Landing neighborhood increasingly becomes a 24-hour district where locals live, work, and play, Jacob and the entire District Dogs team are ready to give dogs (and their humans!) in National Landing an option for outstanding pet care that’s convenient for where and how they live. We are a company founded by and for urban pet parents, and we’re looking forward to bringing our signature services to this new community of dog owners. With over 6000 square feet of space, this new location will offer daycare, boarding, professional dog training, canine enrichment activities, and space for events aimed at bringing area dog owners together.
Construction on our National Landing outpost will begin in 2022, and we hope to open the doors in Spring 2023. Check back here or follow along on Instagram for more updates and sneak peeks at our newest location!
